SAXSATIONAL

SAXOPHONIST EXTRAORDINAIRE

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2026   7:30 PM   GLYNN ACADEMY AUDITORIUM, BRUNSWICK, GA

Rob Verdi received his musical training from the Arizona State University School of Music in 1984. He relocated to Los Angeles to accept a full time position with the Entertainment Division of the Walt Disney Company. His jazz band, the Side Street Strutters entertained guests at Disneyland for 22 years and also presented formal concerts and symphony pops programs in theaters and performing arts centers throughout the US and Europe. In 2008, Rob introduced audiences to “Saxophobia”, a unique show which offered audiences a glimpse at some of the most unusual saxophones every manufactured and recognized a handful of legendary artists who contributed to the development of jazz and the popularity of the saxophone. With the success of Saxophobia, a new show was introduced entitled “SAXsational” which invited local schools to share the stage with him during formal concert presentations.

Rob continues to perform at the Disneyland Resort and is proud to be celebrating his 40th year of entertaining guests in Disneyland's New Orleans Square. Over the years Mr Verdi has provided music for a variety of Disney red carpet movie premiers and special events and is a clinician for the Disney Imagination Campus Recording Workshop Program.

Press Quotes -

"What a fantastic concert Friday night!!!! Interesting and fun to see and hear all the various saxophones played so expertly. Mr. Verdi was indeed fortunate to have MHS students there to perform with him. Totally awesome. All that talent! It was fun to hear former Franklin Elementary kids as well as fellow Marshalltown Municipal Band members. Of all the community concerts we have ever seen this one ranked among the best. Thanks for wonderful performance and all the practice and time it took to get there."
- Dixie and Dennis Walters. Marshaltown, IA

"I heard many, many, many more positive comments. Some told me this was the best Entertainment Series concert EVER. Many others were delighted to see the Caddo Mills band and the support from their families. These band students have been working hard and felt quite honored to have the opportunity to perform with you. You did an outstanding job communicating with me and with the band director. Thanks again for providing this educational opportunity for area music students. It was an experience that they will treasure as one of the highlights of their high school years."
